片名看似矛盾oxymoron（戰士應該給人勇猛激動求勝的印象），但這兩個字放在一起卻有一種「柔弱勝剛強」，更深沈穩靜的感覺。
開頭，Dan落地後半條腿碎裂，他痛苦地倒在地上，只能眼睜睜地看著旁人把他化成丁塊的碎片掃走。
講到Dan想成為"the lord of the ring"（字幕翻「吊環之王」）忍不住XD（因為正巧也是魔戒的title）
「你剛才落水的時候腦子裡想著什麼？」（略）「我根本不知道！」「有～而且你還幫它取了個名字『啊～～～～』」
「為什麼要叫我Jack?」「因為是蠢蛋（jackass）的暱稱。」
「你沒學到任何東西，你活在過去（的成就）。今天不用上課了，回去」
車禍復原後的Dan到體育館跟兩個同伴說真心話道歉時，同伴假裝心臟病發表示震驚（實在太機八了XD）
「把垃圾拿去丟掉」「為什麼要我去」「我是指這裡」（老人以手指敲了敲男主角的額頭）
「告訴我刷馬桶能學到什麼！」「例如～放下你的驕傲」
「只要摒除心中一切雜念」說法；Socrates抓住Dan雙肩讓他瞬時有千里眼順風耳（耳聰目明的極致表現），還要禁酒肉禁煙禁慾，頗有東方哲理or練武or禪宗心法的味道～
「不要問這麼瑣碎的問題。」讓我想到某K。
「有時候要發瘋才能大徹大悟」
片中把Dan的恐懼、執念、自大具象化成另一個他，甩手讓那個形象墜下便象徵摒除那個黑暗的自己。
Dan Millman: I took for granted what I could do. I was sloppy with my life; I'm scared but I feel like I got rid of all the old stuff and it was the right thing to do.
國外的大學校園環境很美，草地上的學生、小橋流水感覺很乾淨；要是掉進醉月湖可就囧了。

如果說「水」的意象代表洗淨與自省：Dan被Socrates推落河中；Dan獨自在淋浴間沖水沈思的那一幕，還有後來在大雨中練習身影映在牆上的景象。
Socrates: Everything has a purpose, even this, and it's up to you to find it.
Socrates: A warrior does not give up what he loves, he finds the love in what he does.
Dan Millman: There are no ordinary moments.
